Magnus Indonesia started operations in 1997 and in 1999 established itself as a wholly owned subsidiary. The Garuda Indonesia project - Indonesia's flag carrier airline - was a milestone that established Magnus Indonesia's presence as a major player in the national market, and this was followed by another showcase project award for Telkom (Indonesia's state owned telecommunications company).
The other areas of our success includes FMCG with Charoen Pokphand, Perfetti Van Melle, Surya Hidup Satwa, and Karya Prajona Nelayan; inroads into banking with Bank BRI; mining with Newmont Nusa Tenggara; and process manufacturing with Tripolyta.
Along with the technology direction, Magnus Indonesia has also been intensely involved in internet based technology solutions with B2B and M2M projects such as: Telkom B2B, Makro, Perfetti Van Melle (see above), Frisian Flag, et al.
Magnus Indonesia currently employs approximately 130 people, focuses in four major business lines, and is optimally sized to address the market. As is the general situation in most countries in the region, the current local environment brings challenges as well as opportunities: Companies seeking to make themselves more efficient become new opportunities to engage, giving rise to the interest in new technological solutions to redress existing business processes. Whereas a dynamic market and currency instability become new challenges as priorities shift very quickly and decisions take longer for these same companies.
Magnus Indonesia takes advantage of the economic climate by widening its coverage, and targeting multiple industries, while also addressing the market space at a lower threshold (SME). To enable this strategy, Magnus Indonesia is jointly setting up a partner company - Magnus Malacca or "M2" - to be an alternate go to market vehicle.
Magnus Indonesia is situated at the Menara Kadin Building. KADIN itself is an abbreviation that stands for "Kamar Dagang dan Industri Indonesia" (Indonesian Chamber of Trade and Industry). With a view to three sides of the city, one can enjoy a scenic panorama of the capital city.
